Chicken Tikka Masala

This was one that I followed to the letter, making it from scratch. Now i know this may sound sad but this was the first time I had made my own paste and the way I acted was as though it was a big thing, I made everybody look and tasted the paste.

The recipe turned out fabulous and since then I have made this dish several times for friends and family and so far I have not had a single critic, but everyone wants more.

Rating out of 10, well if I could give 12 I would so it would have to be 10 out of 10.

Fish Pie

This was the second dish I had cooked and to be honest not a brilliant dish, in fact I thought it a tad bland, not to say that this was Jamie,s fault as I probably buggered it up by using too much lemon zest.

After sampling it my children (who are in fact the best crictics you can get) told me it tasted like fizzy pop. I will try it again in the future but if it tastes as before definately will dump it from my recipe list.

Out of 10 i would give this a 6.

Beef Stew

The first time i ventured into what is now known as real cooking, the first thing i cooked was a Beef Stew with added ale. Did I stick to the Jamie Oliver recipe, well not 100%, in fact i added dumplings served it with potatoes and it made a filling meal for 4 hungry people.

The whole family like it, even my daughter who hates carrots cleaned her plate, I cheated slightly and cooked it in my slow cooker but oh well rules are meant to be broken.

An hearty meal after a day out christmas shopping in the cold. my rating out of 10 for this meal would be 8.
